Victoria Gatt is an illustrator, who also experiments with other visual media such as animation, installation and photography. She finds that they broaden her sources of inspiration and offer new opportunities to create striking and interesting illustrations.
During The Trail Victoria will be showing her finished work, and working on current designs on her iPad, which will be displayed live on a large screen.
Victoria almost thinks of illustration as another language, and one that she sometimes thinks can be more important than that which is spoken. It is her belief that in today’s world, where people are becoming increasingly desensitised to words and stories, visual representations of ideas have greater potential to impact audiences.
In her free time, Victoria reads stories in the genres of fantasy, mystery or crime. She also draws inspiration from stand-up comedy and music, and many of her illustrations have developed from a melody or song lyric.
