Nathanael Theuma’s art focuses on sacred images, drawing inspiration from traditional sacred art while injecting his own inspiration and style.
During The Trail Nathanael will be displaying his paintings and explaining his creative process and vision.
Nathanael has pieces exhibited in Italy, Greece, Israel and Malta, with many of his works displayed in churches and monasteries, and the homes of private collectors. Recently he has been exploring other subject matter, such as the human figure and portraits. Nathanael graduated in Sacred Theology and attended Verona Art Academy, where he specialised in fresco.
“It is my great pleasure to participate in The Trail. About myself, it is enough to say that I was born in 1962. I studied Theology in Malta and Padova and I perfected my artistic skills in local art schools and at the Academy of Art in Verona. In Malta my works can be found at the MSSP Oratory in Birkirkara and at Qawra parish church. My background in Theology helped me scrutinise classical and ancient iconography and I am now trying to merge the ancient with the modern, tradition with personal inspiration, and oriental artistic sensitivity with that of the West. I sincerely hope that this artistic experience communicates to others my personal artistic itinerary and love for beauty.” explains Nathanael.
